Big Bear Love

Longline: After being fired from his long-time job and losing his flat and roommate, a desperate single thirty-something man's life is thrown into a tailspin when he unwittingly becomes a stripping teddy bear and discovers himself and love.

When Lester Hart’s college roommate Vince marries and moves out, Lester’s cushy life collapses. Jobless and broke, he winds up back home with his overly amorous parents, Dick and Joanne. Meanwhile, Kaitlin’s honeymoon implodes when her husband runs off with another woman, sending her into the chaos of her sister Fiona’s bustling family of five kids.

After bombing his best man speech at Vince’s wedding, Lester crosses paths with a drunken Kaitlin, who skewers him and his pathetic toast. Hoping to reclaim his freedom, Lester moves in with Vince’s wild younger brother Tony, who convinces him to attend a Furry Ball dressed as a teddy bear. Abandoned at the party and locked out, Lester ends up wandering the streets overnight in costume until Kaitlin nearly runs him over the next morning. Mistaking him for an entertainer, she ropes him into performing at her niece Mia’s birthday party.

When Tony drags Lester into a stripping gig, his anonymous “modest bear” routine unexpectedly becomes a hit, and soon Lester is in demand on the adult party circuit. But as his schedule clashes with budding feelings for Kaitlin, missed meetings and secrets unravel their connection.

Disaster strikes when Tony fills in for a sick Lester and mistakenly performs a raunchy strip show at Mia’s party, humiliating everyone and driving Kaitlin to swear off men for good. Lester retires the bear costume and resigns himself to life with his parents—until Kaitlin realizes she may have overlooked the one man who could truly surprise her.
